    Exploring Pure Spinor String Theory on AdS_4 x CP^3

    In this paper we formulate the pure spinor superstring theory on AdS_4 x CP^3. By recasting the pure spinor action as a topological A-model on the fermionic supercoset Osp(6|4)/SO(6)xSp(4) plus a BRST exact term, we prove the exactness of the sigma-model. We then give a gauged linear sigma-model which reduces to the superstring in the limit of large volume and we study its branch geometry in different phases.     RELIABLE INTERESTS IN INFORMATION-CENTRIC NETWORKING

    In an information-centric networking (ICN) environment, an interest may be dropped by a network for any number of reasons. However, if an interest is lost then the corresponding data cannot be received, thereby reducing the performance of a network. Techniques are presented herein that make ICN interests more resilient to potential losses by adding certain state information into an interest payload. That state information may be used to keep track of the previous interests that have been sent by a forwarder face for a specific name. To encode the sequence numbers of the interests that have been previously sent, a first aspect of the presented techniques employs a list of sequence numbers while a second aspect of the presented techniques employs a bitmap. The presented techniques may be used to reduce the possibility that interests are not dropped during transit when using ICN

    Les défis de l'émulation Wi-Fi à base des traces

    Wi-Fi link is unpredictable and it has never been easy to measure it perfectly; there is always bound to be some bias. As wireless becomes the medium of choice, it is useful to capture Wi-Fi traces in order to evaluate, tune, and adapt the different applications and protocols. Several methods have been used for the purpose of experimenting with different wireless conditions: simulation, experimentation, and trace-driven emulation. In this paper, we argue that trace-driven emulation is the most favourable approach. In the absence of a trace-driven emulation tool for Wi-Fi, we evaluate the state-of-the-art trace driven emulation tool for Cellular networks and we identify issues for Wi-Fi: interference with concurrent traffic, interference with its own traffic if measurements are done on both uplink and downlink simultaneously , and packet loss. We provide a solid argument as to why this tool falls short from effectively capturing Wi-Fi traces. The outcome of our analysis guides us to propose a number of suggestions on how the existing tool can be tweaked to accurately capture Wi-Fi traces.La liaison Wi-Fi est imprévisible et il n'a jamais été facile de la mesurer parfaitement ; il y a toujours un risque de biais. Comme le sans fil devient le moyen de communication de choix, il est utile de capturer les traces Wi-Fi afin d'évaluer, de régler et d'adapter les différentes applications et protocoles. Plusieurs méthodes ont été utilisées pour expérimenter différentes conditions sans fil : la simulation, l'expérimentation et l'émulation de traces. Dans cet article, nous soutenons que l'émulation pilotée par les traces est l'approche la plus favorable. En l'absence d'un outil d'émulation piloté par trace pour le Wi-Fi, nous évaluons l'outil d'émulation piloté par trace de pointe pour les réseaux cellulaires et nous identifions les problèmes pour le Wi-Fi : interférence avec le trafic concurrent, interférence avec son propre trafic si les mesures sont effectuées simultanément sur la liaison montante et la liaison descendante, et perte de paquets. Nous fournissons un argument solide pour expliquer pourquoi cet outil ne parvient pas à capturer efficacement les traces Wi-Fi. Le résultat de notre analyse nous guide pour proposer un certain nombre de suggestions sur la manière dont l'outil existant peut être modifié pour capturer avec précision les traces Wi-Fi

    Decoupling Information and Connectivity via Information-Centric Transport

    The power of Information-Centric Networking (ICN) architectures lies in their abstraction for communication --- the request for named data. This abstraction promises that applications can choose to operate only in the information plane, agnostic to the mechanisms implemented in the connectivity plane. However, despite this powerful promise, the information and connectivity planes are presently coupled in today\u27s incarnations of leading ICNs by a core architectural component, the forwarding strategy. Presently, this component is not sustainable: it implements both the information and connectivity mechanisms without specifying who should choose a forwarding strategy --- an application developer or the network operator. In practice, application developers can specify a strategy only if they understand connectivity details, while network operators can assign strategies only if they understand application expectations. In this paper, we define the role of forwarding strategies, and we introduce Information-Centric Transport (ICT) as an abstraction for cleanly decoupling the information plane from the connectivity plane. We discuss how ICTs allow applications to operate in the information plane, concerned only with namespaces and trust identities, leaving network node operators free to deploy whatever strategy mechanisms make sense for the connectivity that they manage. To illustrate the ICT concept, we demonstrate ICT-Sync and ICT-Notify. We show how these ICTs 1) enable applications to operate regardless of connectivity details, 2) are designed to satisfy a predefined set of application requirements and are free from application-specifics, and 3) can be deployed by network operators where needed, without requiring any change to the application logic

    Evaluation of salivary matrix metalloproteinase (MMP-8) in periodontal patients undergoing non-surgical periodontal therapy and mouthwash based on ozonated olive oil: a randomized clinical trial

    Background: Extracellular matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs) play a pivotal role in the damage to the periodontal tissue in patients with periodontitis. Scaling and root planning (SRP) attempt to control the plaque amount and consequentially reduce the bacterial load. Non-surgical periodontal treatment could be integrated with drug therapy and physiotherapy procedures such as ozone therapy. The aim of this study was to evaluate in a cohort of patients with a diagnosis of periodontitis: (1) the efficacy of non-surgical periodontal therapy assisted by the use of ozonated olive oil-based mouthwash on salivary metalloproteinase (MMP-8) and (2) the reduction of periodontal indices. Methods: Ninety-six subjects with a diagnosis of periodontitis were enrolled in this study and randomly assigned to the study group (SRP + mouthwash) or control group (SRP). The study duration was 3 months. Data on MMP-8, plaque index (PI), bleeding on probing (BoP) and probing pocket depth (PPD) were recorded at T0, T1 (14 days), T2 (1 month) and T3 (6 months). Group differences were assessed using Student’s t-test for independent samples. Results: A significant improvement in PI, BoP, PPD and salivary MMP-8 levels was observed in both groups. An analysis of differences in relative changes of indices revealed the efficacy of ozonated olive oil in decreasing MMP-8 level. Simultaneously, it slowed the decrease of BoP index. Conclusions: Scaling and root plaining with the aid of ozonated olive oil mouthwash were found to be more effective on salivary MMP-8 reduction than scaling and root plaining alone

    Anchor-less Producer Mobility in ICN

    ABSTRACT Mobility has become a basic premise of almost any network communication, thereby requiring a native integration into next generation 5G networks. Despite the numerous efforts to propose and to standardize effective mobility management models for IP, the result is a very complex, poorly flexible set of mechanisms not suitable for the design of a radio-agnostic 5G mobile core. The natural support for mobility, security and storage offered by ICN (InformationCentric Networking) architecture, makes it a good candidate to define a radically new solution relieving limitations of traditional approaches. If consumer mobility is supported in ICN by design in virtue of its connectionless pull-based communication model, producer mobility still appears to be an open challenge. In this work we describe an initial proposal for an anchorless approach to manage producer mobility via Interest Updates/Notifications in the data plane, even in presence of latency-sensitive applications. We detail the different operations triggered by producer movements and position our contribution in the context of existing alternatives, by discussing either user performance and network metrics
